Players in the U7's must be in school years 1 or 2, but those in year 1 must have reached their 6th birthday to be eligible to play in a match. As a result of the FA's Youth Development Review, from season 2013/14 Under 7's are not permitted to play in leagues where results are collected or published or winner trophies are presented.  Under 7's can play in a maximum of three trophy events during the season, lasting a maximum of four weeks each. Under 7's play in a maximum 3 v 3 format. 

The League organises festivals throughout the season at a central venue in which a different Club is invited to host each month. Clubs who are not members of the BCGFL are also welcome to enter teams into these events.
